Sara Wallace, M.A., L.P.A., graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology.
Sara has completed multiple research projects in both Clinical and Sport Psychology, and has presented her research findings at conferences on a local, state, and regional level. Sara completed her graduate internship with a residential, substance abuse treatment center in Tennessee. After graduating with her degree, Sara began working in the Women’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Program as a Primary Therapist at the same treatment center where she was an intern. In this role, Sara led DBT skills groups, conducted individual therapy sessions, participated in a DBT consultation team, and conducted psychological assessments for the individuals residing at the treatment center. Additionally, Sara has worked with the Native American population in South Florida as a Substance Abuse Counselor. Sara conducted group and individual therapy for inpatient and outpatient levels of the treatment center.
Sara has received training in DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Sara has experience working with adolescent and adult populations, who have a history of substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, learning disabilities, relationship problems, and dysfunctional family issues.
Parallel with the main goal in DBT, Sara believes in “creating a life worth living” with her clients. She walks next to her clients on their journey to mental and emotional stability and provides support and encouragement along the way. Sara believes in conducting empirically-supported treatments that are best suited for each client’s individual needs.
