Dr. Sara Halcomb, PsyD graduated from Spalding University in 2023 with a doctorate in clinical psychology, with an emphasis area of Pediatrics. She completed two post-doctoral fellowships after graduation, one in eating disorders and the other in consultation-liaison work, both at Norton Children’s Hospital through the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Across both fellowships, she delivered services to children and families in the hospital as well as on an outpatient basis.

Dr. Sara Halcomb developed a particular passion for working with individuals and their families impacted by eating disorders, helping them navigate the recovery process with compassion and structure. She has extensive experience with eating disorders in children, adolescents, and young adults, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and binge eating disorder. Dr. Halcomb also works with anxiety, OCD, depression, adjustment, health psychology concerns, and other presenting problems.

She completed her training at a variety of levels of care, including inpatient, an intensive outpatient program, and outpatient settings, providing individual therapy, group therapy, psychological assessment, parent training, and consultation. Dr. Halcomb utilizes various evidence-based practices, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), family based therapy (FBT), exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. She emphasizes a collaborative approach with patients and their families, working together to create an individualized approach that meets their needs and goals.

Dr. Halcomb lives in Louisville, with her husband and their cat, Special Agent Mittens (Sam for short). In her free time, she enjoys reading, trivia, and game nights with friends.
