Melissa earned her doctorate in clinical psychology with an emphasis in treating Children, Adolescents, and Families from Spalding University School of Professional Psychology in 2016. She completed her internship training at Southern Illinois University Counseling and Psychological Services and her postdoctoral work at Bellarmine University Counseling Center.  She went on to work as the Assistant Director at Bellarmine University Counseling Center and in private practice at StrongMinds group practice in Louisville, KY.

Melissa’s professional training and work provide a foundation of experience as a generalist, treating a variety of diagnoses and presenting concerns including anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders, trauma, and identity development & interpersonal distress. Melissa focuses on building a trusting therapeutic relationship as the foundation for treatment.  Then clients can begin to understand their “stuckness”, identify what’s important to them, and learn new strategies to create meaningful change in their lives.

Melissa joined the team at the Louisville Center for Eating Disorders in late 2020 where she provides evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, OCD, and anxiety disorders. She continues to supervise practicum student therapists. Melissa is a member of the Kentucky Psychological Association and serves on the Continuing Education Committee.

Melissa is a southern Indiana native and currently lives there with her husband and their children. She enjoys spending time with her family & friends, being outdoors and trying new restaurants.
